BBMP Crematorium Online
During the COVID crisis, the death rate saw an unprecedented spike and people were lining up at the crematoriums for hours and even days to perform their deceased loved ones last rites. To ease the pressure on crematoriums, bbmp has launched a unique online service for booking cremation services. The e-service is easy to use and allows people to book a cremation slot at the comfort of their homes, office or on the go.
BBMP has also asked civic marshals to keep a watch on the seven designated cremation sites (Med Agrahara, Kudlu, Panathur, Hebbal, Summanahalli, Kengeri, Peenya and Banashankari) and ensure that only those Covid helpline-referred bodies brought in RFID-enabled hearses are allowed into the cremation areas. They have been asked to report daily to Zonal Commissioners. They have been further directed to raise awareness among the public about the helpline and the arrangements that have been made for the cremation of Covid victims.
The e-service is simple to access, and only requires an internet connection. After selecting the service, a form will pop up asking for details about the deceased and the date of the funeral. Once the form is filled, a link will be provided to make payment. Once the payment is completed, a confirmation message will be sent and a slot booking print out will be generated. This print out should be carried to the crematorium.
Once the booking is done, the family can book the cremation service in any of the BBMP’s 12 electric crematoriums. The BBMP will provide the necessary facilities for the last rites including transportation of the body, antim sanskar samagri, wooden logs and pandit services. In addition, the service will provide a memorial site to commemorate the dead.

A BBMP spokesman said the e-service would save time and effort for both kin and BBMP officials. He added that it was a part of the e-government initiative to streamline and enhance the city’s services for the benefit of its residents.
The BBMP e-service is available on the BBMP website and can be used by both citizens and kin. It is accessible from any computer, tablet or mobile device with a web browser. To use the e-service, users must have a valid BBMP login ID and password. The BBMP login ID can be obtained by visiting the BBMP website or by calling the BBMP helpline.
BBMP is one of the most advanced and well-equipped crematoriums in Bengaluru, and the facilities it offers are comprehensive. These include a mortuary, memorial site, pujari room, prayer hall, washrooms, water coolers and more. The bbmp crematorium online booking are also staffed by experienced professionals to handle every aspect of the cremation process.
