However, Virat Kohli is expected to return in the IPL 2024. The IPL 2024 season will kick-start on March 22 and will run until May 26, just a week before the commencement of the T20 World Cup 2024 in June in the West Indies and the USA.
While some fans are confident that Kohli will appear in the IPL 2024, others are fretting whether the RCB star batsman who is the leading run-scorer in IPL history may opt out from the tournament, entirely or partially. But no, that is unlikely going to be the case.

Kohli and Anushka announced that Akaay was born on February 15. So by the time the IPL 2024 starts, on March 22, over a month – a month and a week to be precise – will have passed since Akaay’s birth. In modern-day cricket, players rarely take off time of more than four weeks to resume cricket for the birth of their child. Players often take about a week or two off to be with their wife and newborn child. So we can expect Kohli to return in the IPL.
The burning desire to win an IPL trophy
Virat Kohli is the only player in the history of the IPL to have played all seasons for only one franchise. However, he and RCB are yet to win an IPL trophy. With Kohli being 36 years old, time is running out for him to get his hands on that elusive trophy.

Kohli said earlier in a video for Star Sports, “For me, the loyalty that the fans have shown in me, the faith, the love over so many years is way more valuable.”
